As you process the current new moon cycle, put the following thoughts
in the ‘back burner’ of your mind... and know that your thought
processes will work with these events to your highest and best good.
Definitions:
Use the following to create your understanding of how these energies may
combine to create new and changing situations.
Jupiter can be described as expansive, wasteful, humorous, wise,
dealing with law & order, a teacher. Some keywords for Saturn are order,
restrictive, conservative, patterns, foundations, structures, fearful.
Uranus, ah, the unique one. It breaks patterns, brings radical change,
is electrical in its nature, and seeks new concepts.
Squares are times of stress -- the energies of the planets are 90
degrees in separation to each other. One definition of a square can be:
tension and conflict, out of which comes a creative solution.
Conjunctions are when planets occupy the same astrological space, and
this can be defined as a blending of energies, the beginning of a new cycle.
This is what a New Moon is every month -- a conjunction of the Sun and the
Moon. After the conjunction, as the planets separate, the planets move
forward to make a square (a first quarter moon), and then on to an
opposition (as in a full moon) and then back to the last square (third
quarter moon). We need to look back in time to see when these planets last
combined their energies.
History:
Looking back, Saturn and Uranus last conjuncted each other on October
18, 1988, very late in Sagittarius - at 27 degrees. On that day
specifically, there was a feeling of great restlessness. The interpretation
of that degree, from Elias Lonsdale’s book, “Inside Degrees” describes
the conflict of the two planetary energies perfectly: “...You are at an
advanced and intricate crossroads in development, where you are inwardly
blown wide open and outwardly desperate to forge individuality and personal
life...” Where were you then? Can you remember? Did an event impact you in
such a way around that day that you chose a particular new and different
life path? This conjunction happens about every 46 years. The prior events
were May, 1942, and September, 1897.
Jupiter and Uranus visited each (conjunction) other just a few years
ago, on February 15, 1998 early in Aquarius - at 5 degrees. This was a
feeling of great expansion, of metaphysical events, and activities with
inventions - and the internet was quietly unfolding into what we now
experience regularly. Again, from “Inside Degrees”: “...The life force
runs wild... You move into any and every kind of awareness-frequency with
abandon and resiliency...”. Think back, and consider anything that was
making a strong impression on you and your life. This conjunction happens
about every 14 years.
The last time the Jupiter and Saturn conjuncted each other was in July
of 1981, late in the 4th degree of Libra. “Inside Degrees” states this
about the Libra degree -- see how it fits for the last 20 years of your
life: “...Exuberant with the play of existence...Wanting to find out what
is real here, what is truly alive, what is worth moving further with...”
Depending upon how you interpret Saturn in your own emotional body, this can
be a catalyst for great positive creativity or it can continue the path of
doubt, fear, lack, and regret. This conjunction occurs every twenty years.
People who have this pattern in their birth chart carry a polarity dilemma
about abundance vs. lack, wisdom vs. doubt, joy vs. fear, and so on.
Presently:
The benefit of astrology is to be aware of these timings, giving us
20/20 hindsight, as well as empowering us for present choices. We are on the
verge of experiencing a tension between what we began in 1988 and 1997,
balanced with the beginning of a whole new cycle with the Jupiter/Saturn
conjunction.
For the Saturn Uranus square, at 20 degrees, Lonsdale writes, first
for Taurus: “...The ultimate challenge -- to throw the self off, and take
the self on as it is appropriate...” Next for Aquarius: “...In the dance of
time, there comes a fresh cycle... the high feminine spirit comes into her
own...” Conclusion: be ready to ground into your consciousness and physical
being the understanding of change in what the role of woman is on a mental,
physical, emotional, and spiritual level. A time of understanding the inner
feminine in a totally new mode (if you are a male) and a new form of
expressing the feminine outwardly (if you are a female).
Now to the Jupiter Uranus square, also at 20 degrees. Conclusion: The
joys of unexpected insights into the wisdom we each carry; understanding
ourselves as our own Spiritual healers and empowering ourselves to that
level; listening strongly to our own wisdom we strike out on our path of
Truth that only resonates within ourselves, which can be hard to express to
others.
Finally, we have the opportunity to use the boundless energy of
Jupiter harnessed to the focusing energy of Saturn’s long term planning in
this conjunction. What meaningful social structures do you wish to
participate in? What successes do you want to participate in your life? This
is a great time to decide where you want to be twenty years from now.
Many are already feeling the pull of these energies towards a particular
goal.
“Inside Degrees” says for 22 Taurus: “Burning up with the inner
flame of creative activity in the soul realms... An extremely sharply
motivated path of development. Difficult to harness, yet the mastery called
for is just what you seek to embody, and anything more reasonable seems easy
and lazy...”
This is a very very earthy conjunction. Disconnect from the electronic
media and go sit in nature. Lean up against a tree for a few hours. Eat
foods grown under the earth for good grounding energy. Do this for these few
weeks before the 28th. Know that you are moving more and more into your true
being.
Remember -- do not succumb to the fears of Saturn. If you are
experiencing phobias, please do get help from appropriate counselors.
Don’t just take medication to buffer the situation you are in. Get help to
dig in and find the roots of the issue(s) and heal yourself.
May you all walk in beauty.
Malama pono (take care). Namasté.
