It's None of My Business?
One of the repercussions of modern life with all our TVs and modern
conveniences and big cities, is that we have become separated from our
neighbors, from the people we see daily. We treat them all as strangers. |
I Think, Therefore I Am
"I think, therefore I am". I feel that this statement really is a
fill-in-the-blanks statement. In other words, I think "I am angry",
therefore I am "angry". |
Taking Sides?
Whenever there's an argument or a controversy, we seem to automatically
take sides. In some ways, every time we make a choice we are taking sides.
We see things as black and white; this against that; good against evil; us
against them, etc.

Is
Your Body Talking to You?
So
many things happen in life that don't seem to be part of the plan. Whether
it involves the end of a job, our health, a situation takes place, and we
seem to have the rug swept out from under us. Yet, each challenge comes with
a message, with a gift, that we can only discover if we listen to what it
has to say. |
Trust and Faith
Trust and faith. These two items are in very high demand these days. But
they've been in high demand throughout the ages, it is simply that we now,
in this chaotic world we live in, are feeling it more deeply and closely. |
The World’s A Stage
We tend to take life seriously… all
the problems, challenges, crises… all
of these seem to be like life and
death situations, and in some cases
they are. Yet as Shakespeare told us
years ago, all the world is a stage,
and we are all players or actors upon
this earth.

Talking to Yourself?
It's interesting
how some of the things that are really
good for us have gotten a bad rap.
We've all been told, or at least
heard, that if you talk to yourself
you'll be locked up, and to especially
not answer yourself. We also are not
to talk to "imaginary friends" as that
is considered "childish" or not based
in reality.

Speaking
Your Truth
"The meek shall inherit the
earth..." Those of us raised in
the Christian faith know this
statement well. And for many of us,
myself included, it was interpreted to
mean that we should bite our tongue,
hold our peace, and not rock the
boat... |

Hatred is a Choice
If I hate something, I don't allow
myself to have any joy associated with
it. Hating something closes the door
to it. And, hating something (or
someone) attracts hatred and anger in
our lives. |
Is Lying
Acceptable?
One would think that lying has become
ok. Commercials use situations in
which the character is lying to sell
us a product, unsolicited emails have
in the subject line "in reply to your
email", etc. |
|
Let It
Begin With Me
There are many occasions in life
where our "inner peace" is challenged.
Rather than react with anger, we can
silently sing to ourselves, "Let there
be peace on earth, and let it begin
with me."
|
Patience...
In this "day and age" of instant
gratification, it seems that patience
is a forgotten commodity. It is
somewhat like the joke that goes "God
grant me patience, and give it to me
right away."
|
What's Your
Intent?
When we are seeking to "improve" or change or lives, we often set goals or have
a vision of what we want to attain. In our goal to become a "better" or happier
person, it might be necessary to examine our motives or our intent in every action
we take. |
|
Being Afraid...
While humans have always had "reasons"
to be afraid, we are now being
bombarded daily with more reasons to
choose fear as our response...

The 3 R's --
The Basis of Education
Many of us have grown up with the
concept of the 3 R's. And we were
always told that the three R's were
Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Yet,
only one of those
starts with an R… which got me
thinking that maybe the 3 R's were
different... |
