 BOOK REVIEW:

There's A Spiritual Solution
to Every Problem

by Wayne W. Dyer

PUBLISHER: HarperCollins Publishers

When Wayne Dyer wrote his latest book "There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem," he must have had a huge dilemma. While the title certainly summarizes the thrust of the book, he could easily have titled it "How to Raise Your Vibrational Frequency on Every Level."

Few works have been written about how we are to achieve a higher vibrational level and none as comprehensive as this one. Like other metaphysical teachers, Dr. Dyer offers similar advice to increase your vibrational frequency: drink pure water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and meditate daily, but he doesn’t stop there. In these pages, the author soon has you questioning everything in your life that keeps you rooted in slower vibrations and thus a world of "problems."

He feels that everything has an energy field, even those things we call problems. By raising our vibrational frequency, we open ourselves up to the unlimited solutions available through spirit. We no longer need to attack our problems or understand them in more depth. "You [simply] correct the error in your thinking that produced the problem in the first place," explains Dyer. He goes on to say that every crisis becomes an opportunity, which won’t necessarily make life easier, but will make it more satisfying.

My favorite portion of the book is the authors' explanation of how to deal with antagonistic people we encounter. He challenges our thinking about the problem with Buddha’s question: "If someone offers you a gift, and you do not accept that gift, to whom does the gift belong?" Dr. Dyer brings clarity to the passage and explains, "When someone offers you a gift of their insults, and you refuse to accept them, they obviously still belong to the original giver." He then asks, "And why would you ever choose to be upset or angry over something that belonged to someone else?"

In the forward section, you’ll read of Dyer’s recent life challenge. An unexpected heart attack occurs shortly after the completion of the book, which calls upon him to personally apply everything he has written. As a person who doesn't smoke or drink, is not overweight, has exercised daily for the past 25 years, watches what he eats, meditates, enjoys his work, has a great marriage and family, plus has run marathons, Dr. Dyer says he doesn't "do" heart attacks. However, one Fall day in 2000, he found himself on his knees in a hotel room gripped by a seemingly insurmountable "problem."

Dyer eventually accessed a spiritual solution when he stopped focusing on the "problem" and shifted to spiritual energy as he began to bring joy to everyone around him in the hospital and opened others to the mind/body connection.

I personally am blessed to learn that Wayne Dyer is now fully recovered and running again. Once you've read this book, you may just have a new perspective on spiritual problem solving.

Next to the sentences and passages of any book I read, I place stars next to those that I want to remember and make a part of my life. This book received 62 stars. Need I say more?
