Marie T. Russell's Daily Inspiration

The focus for today is:  I am active and enthusiastic about my life.

Our culture has relegated aging to the closet. It is not something to be discussed, or even done, as if that is at all possible. Growing older is not something we can avoid, but growing old may be different.

How we age and what we do with our aging years is our choice. We can share our sometimes hard-earned knowledge and wisdom, and create a life that gives back to humanity.

We can fill our aging years with youthful activities such as learning and experiencing new things. We can be involved in our community with those younger than us, or with others who are older than we are. We can be enthusiastic about life and the gifts it brings daily. And we can focus on what we have to give.

Today's Focus was inspired by the InnerSelf.com article:

Facing Aging and Mortality: Discovering The Gifts We Can Give To Future Generations
by Steven D. Farmer, Ph.D.
