InnerSelf's Daily Inspiration

September 22-23-24, 2023

The focus for today (and the weekend) is:

I choose to rest for the sake of my health and quality of life.

Today's inspiration was written by Claudine Mangen:

People need and are entitled to boundaries. We don’t have to avail ourselves 24/7 for work, despite societal pressures that make us feel like we do.

It’s important to also remember that people around us can be affected when we don’t set boundaries. For example, burnout among nurses is associated with lower quality patient care and lower commitment to the workplace. Loved ones can be affected too. We can take stress from work home and be angrier, less supportive to and more withdrawn from our spouses.

We must rest for the sake of our health, including our sleep, eating habits, physical well-being and quality of life.

This is Marie T. Russell, co-publisher of InnerSelf.com, wishing you a day of choosing to rest for the sake of your health and quality of life (today and every day)

Comment from Marie:
If you feel like you're out of breath because you're going non-stop, then that's the time to stop, take a deep breath, and look around you to find some restful moments. We are not meant to go-go-go non-stop. We are like the tides... in and out; like the day and night; the sun and rain. We need the rest to balance our time of activity.

She then shows you how to access your power to achieve what matters most, including receiving what you need and desire. You’ll learn to release the old approach to working, succeeding, and managing a full life, and embrace a new way that gives you clarity and courage to make choices in your day-to-day and overall life design that support and sustain you.
