InnerSelf Newsletter: July 19th, 2015

July 19th, 2015

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.

We live surrounded by walls made by others and divided by walls of our own making. Yet we are the ones who hold the power to make the walls come down, or at least to rise above the walls that separate us.

This week we start by looking within at our addictions and our feelings of shame and guilt. We then learn to recognize our importance and our magnificence through nature, meditation, and introspection. From that point, we are able to disappear the walls from our consciousness and our lives - and discover a whole new reality.

Scroll below for the links of this week's articles that deal with the above topics, and more.

Stars, Atoms, and Men: Recognize Your Importance

Written by Ernest Holmes.

Stars, Atoms, and Men: Recognize Your ImportanceIt was one of the Greek philosophers who first said everything was made of atoms. Now we say atoms are made of positive and negative charges of electricity — pure energy. No one has seen them, but out of that which we do not see emerges that which we do see. The biggest thing in the universe is just made up out of the littlest things.

From Guilt to Bliss Through "Indulging" in ChocolateThink of the last time you ate some chocolate. Did you feel you had to sneak it? Did you eat too much and regret it afterward? Did you hog down the lot of the precious morsels? And how did you feel after your escapade? Were you able to enjoy the chocolate fully? I certainly hope so!

Preserving and Foraging: Depending on Nature for Food

Written by Wendy and Eric Brown.

Depending on Nature for Food: Preserving and ForagingLife, for foragers, can be more secure for the simple fact that they understand crop failures happen. Thus, we learn not to depend wholly on one type of food. The lovely thing about foraging is that there are always alternatives. In nature, there are usually plenty of options, and all of them are free.

8 Strategies to Overcome Addiction and Other ChallengesAnyone who battles addiction knows that it's so much more than a bad habit or a moral shortcoming. Addiction is a compulsion so beyond our control, that we may as well be a feather fighting against a gale-force wind. Until...one day the wind subsides.

What Are The Origins of True Success?

Written by Bob Proctor and Greg S. Reid.

What Are The Origins of True Success? Many people hear the title Think and Grow Rich and immediately connect it with the idea of acquiring material wealth. Yet, interestingly enough, Napoleon Hill doesn’t devote a lot of time in his book to the actual making of money. For Hill, rich had a different meaning or, at the very least, a much broader one.
