InnerSelf Newsletter: September 13th, 2015

September 13th, 2015

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.

This week we look at how our life is affected by stories... We are surrounded by stories. They live in our mind and in our heart. We create them. We adopt them. We hear the stories of others. Some of the stories we tell ourselves, about our own self or about others, are really make-believe. We make them up by our interpretation of reality. Our life experiences, and thus our life, actually become a story we tell ourselves and others.

Jeannine Wiest recommends Widening Your Lens and Reframing Your Story. J. M. DeBord shares How To Interpret Dreams, and after all what are dreams but stories we tell ourselves (or that our subconscious tells us). And perhaps our whole life is a dream and could be understood through the principles of dream interpretation.

Richard Bach shares a story of death and of life after death (I'm Always With You... I'm Not Really Gone!) and we discover that even dying is a story we tell ourselves. Then we have the dramas our fears envision. HeatherAsh Amara suggests Opening Your Heart Wider Than Your Fears. It may even be that Keeping Your Vibrations High to Navigate Through Life requires revisiting (and rewriting) the stories we accept about ourselves and about life.

These articles (and more) are here to help you rethink the stories you accept as real, or as necessary, or as right and wrong. Perhaps it's time for us to change the channel and pick different stories to experience.

Widening Your Lens and Reframing Your Story

Written by Jeannine Wiest.

Widening Your Lens and Reframing Your StoryOur biographies are truly ours to play with, and it is our responsibility to take care with how we do this. If, for instance, you tell yourself an old story that revolves around the notion that no matter what you do, “that’s just the way it is,” and the ending will always be the same, the universe will eventually show you exactly that.

Opening Your Heart Wider Than Your Fears

Written by HeatherAsh Amara.

Opening Your Heart Wider Than Your FearsFor years I understood the concepts of loving more and unconditional acceptance. I knew the woman I wanted to be: more loving, more accepting, more compassionate. But in day-to-day living I struggled with keeping my heart open, especially when I felt afraid. In my quest to soften my heart I noticed a direct correlation between my heart and my judge...

How To Interpret Dreams: Anyone Can Do It!

Written by J. M. DeBord.

How To Interpret Dreams: Anyone Can Do It!An aura of mystery surrounds dream interpretation, conjuring up images of mystics staring into crystal balls or psychoanalysts reading the minds of their patients. I'm Always With You... I'm Not Really Gone!

Written by Richard Bach.

I'm Always With You... I'm Not Really Gone!It was midnight, nearly a thousand midnights since Lucky had died, and all at once I felt his weight on my hospital bed. I had heard of it time and again, in accounts of dear animals once gone, come to touch us again. There was no body there just the belief of his weight, but I knew who it was.
