InnerSelf Newsletter: April 10th, 2016

April 10th, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self.

Emotions! We all have them, and yet sometimes we might wish we didn't. Of course, meditation is often recommended as a way of calming our emotions, but there are times When Keeping a Quiet Mind is Inappropriate.

Our emotions sometimes feel like they rule us and we may need to discover What Pushes Our Buttons and What Can We Do About It. Sometimes they are triggered by old patterns. Cleansing Family Emotional Clutter & Genetic Footsteps becomes a necessity if we want to be free of being controlled by our reactions.

Know thyself is a wise maxim, yet knowing others is also essential to harmonious relationships. Why Is Recognizing Needs and Values Important in Relationships? Being able to know someone's needs and values is integral to having an open and close connection with them. Just as being aware of our own needs and values is essential to having a happy relationship with our own self.

Sarah Varcas shares in Knowing When We Don’t Know: "...a new perspective is called for. A rapid maturation of attitude which shifts us from ‘how do I manipulate life to make it give me what I want?’, to ‘how do I get out of life’s way to allow it to give me what it wants and needs me to have?’. There may be a gaping divide between the two."

Cleansing Family Emotional Clutter & Genetic Footsteps

Written by Donald Altman.

Cleansing Family Emotional Clutter & Genetic FootstepsThe intimate connection we have with family gets embedded within our very being long before we can utter a word. Much of this initial wiring occurs in the right hemisphere of our brain in the first ten to twenty-four months of life. That’s when our brain begins to develop an emotional and social program.

When Keeping a Quiet Mind is Inappropriate

Written by Rick Heller.

When Keeping a Perfectly Quiet Mind is InappropriateHaving a quiet mind is lovely, and there are some simple manual tasks that you can do with a quiet mind: washing dishes, raking leaves, sweeping floors.
