InnerSelf Newsletter: July 3rd, 2016

Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.

From what I've heard, and experienced, this past week was a challenging one for many people. It was even referred to as "the week from hell" (oh, wait, that was me saying that). Yes, well it was, or at least it seemed to be! And I don't get many of those, but this one took the cake.

Problems with the freezer, the water system in the house, the dishwasher, the car tires, the car's tie-rod (I didn't even know there was such a thing)... oh, was that all??? That doesn't seem that bad! I must be forgetting something because it seems like there was more. Oh, yeah the error in shipping where it seemed (for a few days) like it had cost $331 to ship a $20 book to Russia (luckily that was a typo, and it was only $31.) But you get my gist, it was a week of challenges. And you may have your own stories you could relate.

These situations are the times where you discover that Being At Your Best When Things Are At Their Worst is a useful trait. It's also when it might be useful to ask yourself What's Your Default Energy and How Is It Affecting Your Life?

Yes, we all have a default energy that we fall back on when things are going "wrong", or just not going our way. For some it's anger, others impatience, despair, avoidance (a.k.a. burying your head in the sand), etc.. And it's that energy which is the most challenging when things are not going well. Whether we're repeating old behaviors or reactions, or repeating thoughts in our head, we may be in default mode.

A friend was mentioning today that she was having a sinus attack. Perhaps the visualization that I suggested is a good one for all kinds of "attacks" whether it is from the outside of our body or the inside. Imagine yourself standing under the sun, or under the shower, and let the falling rays (light or water) bathe you on the inside and the outside and cleanse whatever needs cleansing. Fears, dark energy, resentment, anger, frustration, aggravation, impatience, etc. etc. Just wash them out and let them go down the drain and/or into Mother Earth. They will thus be transmuted into "new" energy, in the same way that compost is "new energy" created from garbage. Wash it away and come out of it refreshed and lighter.

That technique could also be useful once you discover the answers to the following question: Why Do You Eat And Live The Way You Do? and also if you're having difficulties Risking to Follow Inner Promptings.

We also offer you as a July 4th treat, a "ghost story" of sorts with Abraham Lincoln: Spirit Energies and Ghost Stories: Lincoln and ANZAC

Scroll down for the links to these articles, and many more, for your reading pleasure.

Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week. May you make the coming week into the one you want it to be.

The Cosmic Mass: Risking to Follow Inner Promptings

Joyce and I have written before about the importance of listening to those sometimes subtle promptings that can change our lives. If it were up to our minds, we might never take these risks. If we want to follow the higher path of life, we need to not only listen but also act on these inner promptings.

What's Your Default Energy and How Is It Affecting Your Life?

Each of us has a Default Mechanism, a subconscious pattern of returning to memories of previous experiences in your mind to find a response to a current experience. Your default powers your very first, almost automatic, reaction in response to the events of your life.
