Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your Inner Self. Life is about change. Perhaps another way to think of it is that it is made up of transitions... from one relationship to another, another job, place to live, state of mind, another way of living, another way of seeing things. Transitions... perhaps that word has less negative or fearful connotations and feelings of finality than "change". When we think of change it might feel like things could be completely different in the blink of an eye. While that sometimes is the case, life generally presents us with gradual change... from who we presently are to who we are becoming via the process of transition. We all choose which direction our life is going. Yes, of course, we meet with roadblocks (some real and some imagined). Our dreams may not manifest as quickly as we desire, but if we stay on course and "keep the faith", things do change. This week we reflect on various types of transitions. Some of them are physical, while others are more emotional and mental, and some have to do with lifestyle. The whole world (or so it seems) is transitioning... People are waking up to what is and realizing what could be... and making choices.
The time is now, the choices are ours, the transition is underway... as it always is. But this one is ours. We are the actors on the stage at this time in history, and we get to choose our roles and our script. This week we look at confidence, fear, shyness, the afterlife, redefining human beings, worldliness, simplicity, toxic relationship, and meeting intensity with gentleness... and much more. As men, we have the opportunity to seek to know ourselves and, hence, to bring rich resources of love, respect, wisdom, and compassion to all within our sacred circles. This is not the “end of men” but the beginning of manhood redefined.
Too many people go through life afraid of death, either the event itself, or facing the prospect of the unknown. My interest and research into the areas of past lives, life after death and reincarnation has totally influenced my personal views of death, and indeed of life as well.
How did the definition of a nation’s health become so tied to its economic state? Increasingly the measure of “wellbeing” in a wider qualitative, rather than quantitative, sense is establishing its place. As work by Richard Layard and others has revealed, an increase in material wealth does not lead to increased happiness.
In this article I will explore what toxic relationships are, explain how we can get out of them, and share an exercise to cut energy links with toxic people in our lives in order to regain peace.
